Privacy Policy

Effective November 3, 2026. This policy explains how Storage Exploration Technologies LLC, doing business as Storage X ("Storage X", "we"), 156 Haven Ave, Port Washington, NY 11050, collects and uses information through storagexllc.com, the Storage X customer portal and the Storage X mobile apps for iPhone and Android.

1. Information we collect

• Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and mailing address, and an alternate contact if you give one, when you reserve, rent, order supplies, create a portal login or contact us.
• Rental and account records: your unit(s), rental dates, rent, invoices, payments, requests you send in the portal, and your signed rental agreement.
• Payments: card payments are processed by Square. Card numbers go directly to Square and never touch our servers. We keep only the card brand, the last 4 digits and Square's payment or card reference. See Square's privacy notice at squareup.com/legal.
• Facility access: gate entry times for your access card or PIN, kept for security.
• Messages: what you type into the website chat assistant, contact forms or portal requests.
• Device token (apps only): if you turn on notifications in the app, we store a push token for your device so we can send payment and gate reminders. Turn notifications off in the app or your phone settings at any time.
• App security: Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint unlock run entirely on your device. We never receive your biometric data.
• Basic technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to prevent abuse. A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in to the portal. We do not use advertising trackers in the apps.

2. How we use it

• To provide and manage your rental, reservations and supply orders, take payments and send receipts.
• To answer your questions and requests, and send reminders and notices required by your rental agreement or by law (for example New York lien notices).
• To keep the facility, the portal and your account secure.

3. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run Storage X (payment processing by Square; website hosting; email delivery; e-signature for rental agreements; phone and gate access systems), each only as needed to provide their service, or when required by law.

4. How long we keep it

We keep account information while you rent with us. Financial and rental records (payments, invoices, receipts, signed agreements and lien records) are kept for as long as tax, accounting and New York lien laws require, usually 7 years, even after an account is deleted.

5. Your choices and account deletion

• Update your details: in the customer portal under Profile, or call us.
• Delete your account: in the app or portal open Profile → Delete my account, or email StorageXLLC@gmail.com or call (516) 613-2500. We confirm the request with you and then close your portal login and delete your personal information, usually within 30 days. Records we must keep by law (see section 4) are retained and are not deleted. Deleting your login does not end an active rental; send a move-out notice for that.
• Reminders: turn email, text or push reminders on or off in the portal or app.

6. Children

Storage X services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

7. Security

Portal sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and customer records are kept in private storage that only Storage X staff can open.

8. Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date.
