Do you deliver moving supplies?
Supply orders are picked up at the facility, 156 Haven Avenue, Port Washington. Delivery is free on supply orders of $300 or more. Choose delivery at checkout and we'll call you to schedule.
Do I need insurance or a protection plan?
Yes, your stored belongings should be protected. You can use your own renters or homeowners insurance (proof required before move-in), or add a Safestor protection plan at checkout: $1,000 coverage for $8.95/mo, $5,000 for $11.95/mo, $10,000 for $21.95/mo, or $20,000 for $40.95/mo, plus a one-time $100 setup fee. Plans cover fire, flood, leaks, storms, vandalism, vermin and burglary with forced entry, paid at actual cash value, and are administered through U-Haul Safestor.
Can I rent a truck or van after hours?
Yes. Truck and van rentals available 24 hours a day. Most pickups and returns are done through the U-Haul app with 24/7 Truck Share. Learn more at uhaul.com/Share.
Where do I park / is there a loading area?
Street parking is available. Two loading dock spaces are available while you load or unload your unit.
When can I access my storage unit?
Any time. The facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You get in with your access card or personal PIN.
Are the units climate controlled?
Yes. Our indoor units are fully climate controlled and maintained between 55°F and 80°F year-round. The facility is also equipped with an advanced commercial dehumidification system that continuously regulates humidity, helping protect your belongings from moisture, mold, mildew, warping, and corrosion.
How secure is the facility?
The facility is protected by a top-of-the-line camera system, and entry requires your access card or personal PIN. The facility is also safeguarded by an advanced alarm system for around-the-clock protection.
What are your office hours?
Our office and phone line are open Monday–Friday 9 AM–5 PM and Saturday–Sunday 10 AM–4 PM. The office is at a separate, offsite location. At the facility (156 Haven Ave), staff are available by appointment. Call (516) 613-2500 to set one up. Tenants can access their units 24/7 with an access card or PIN.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. All rentals are month to month, and there is no obligation to rent.
Is there an admin fee, or a charge for 24/7 access?

Do I need a credit card to rent?
No credit card is required.
How do I get the online price and the promotion?
Reserve online. Online pricing is available only for online reservations and rentals, and an online reservation is required to guarantee the price and promotion. Sizes marked ** (12-Month Pre-Payment) are a 12-month pre-payment promotional rate: all 12 months are paid at checkout.
What is the “Year of No Rent Hikes” promotion?
Your monthly rental fee is locked for a year on selected units. New customers only, one per household, not available on 3'x5', 5'x5', or 4'x8' units, transfers or additional spaces. Subject to availability and change.
What size unit do I need?

Can you receive packages for me?
Yes. Add Package Receiving to your unit for $100/month and have your deliveries sent to Storage X. We accept packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon and other carriers and place them in your unit (or keep them at the office for pickup if you choose Receive & hold), and you get a delivery confirmation email with a photo each time.
